Because it has one small wheel upfront, a 3 wheel scooter will have a smaller turning radius than a 4 wheel scooter, meaning it will be much more manueverable inside. A travel scooter will not have as much comfort as a full-sized scooter and may have less power going up hills. It may also have less ground clearance than a full-sized scooter. Ground clearance is one of the most frequent complaints for owners of travel scooters. Scooters with low ground clearance are likely to scrape when going over curb cuts, speed bumps, or driveway lips.
If you will be using your scooter mostly outdoors and want more stability consider a 4 wheel travel scooter. If you are looking for a scooter with more comfort, range and speed and ground clearance, consider a full sized 3 wheel scooter (for indoor and outdoor use) or a full sized 4 wheel scooter (for more stability).
